Many of my peers and families have described me as a "kid". Whether that is playing soccer with 7 year olds, watching power rangers, or going crazy with mc donald's, I seem to have many of these "kid" traits. But I adore this title. I think being a "kid" has led me to see the world in a more positive and bright way, and even allowed me to learn things better. For example, when I try to memorize formulas or vocabs, I would make mnemonic devices like "OeOe"(for AP Statistics) or "POpcoRN"(for AP Psychology). Also, as a "kid", I have the tendency to seek out new things. I have a multitude of hobbies, and the list always changes. These days, I'm interested in teaching, and I hope to make teaching one of my hobbies. I saw WLTS's video through YouTube, and got to know this org. Honestly, I didn't know WLTS would have this much students involved, and I think that was the biggest factor that that brought me here. Being able to communicate with students from around the world is a priceless experience. I've also wanted to make lecture videos for a long time now, but never really initiated it. I think this organization will be a motivating factor for myself to improve. Also, I'm interested in Korea's education problems, so I think this organization really fits my ideas and values well. It is important to say though, that it would be beneficial for the organization too as I would upload more AP psych videos, which seems to be less abundant, and I will teach it in a fun way.
Are there any previous experience (ex. AP scores) or specific reasons why you want to share your knowledge about the subject picked above?
I got AP scholar with distinction when I was in 8th grade(CalcAB, Psych, Mac, Mic, Stats), and got fives on all of them. Though I do like every subject, I have been particularly interested in Math and Psychology. Currently, I am the president of my school math organization which I made just a few months ago, where we share "unconventional" math topics. And this organization is far from trying to improving "math skills" or anything, its just where you show your passion for math research. I think this exemplifies my love for math, and that I can go further than just school and AP stuff. As or psychology, I have a long story but to keep it short, I have a need to thank it. I was a confidence booster for me, and I would say learning psychology was a key turning point in my life. My passion for psychology extends more than classrooms, too. I have taken the international psych olympiad and got a bronze medal in it, which was also cool.
What do you see yourself doing in the future? 본인은 미래에 어떤 일을 하고 있을것 같나요?
Currently, I am really interested in Education reform in Korea. Just a few days ago, I had a call with Kim Nuri, a professor and education reformer. That was a very cool experience, and it further motivated me to pursue research in the Education field. Though I'm not an expert, I think I can comprehensively give evidence of why Korea's education is just wrong, and how society should change it. In the future, I hope to change the education system in Korea and work as a clinical or experimental pychologist. This is a little kid's dream, but I want to go to Stanford, so I'll keep working hard!
