WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO HAVE INTEREST AND JOIN OUR ORGANIZATION? 지원동기, 자기소개:

Before I begin, please note that although I am 07, I am currently in 10th grade. Teaching someone what I know is challenging because not only do I have to know well, but I should also know about my knowledge. I have to ask myself which subjects I know the best, and what my weaknesses are. Also, learning and teaching require different sets of skills. I decided to join this organization to challenge myself and take my knowledge to another level. Not everyone who is an expert on a subject can be a good teacher on it. To teach well, not only do we need knowledge on that subject, but also empathy, skills to choose the idea to focus on, and skills to motivate those who are learning. I, not only have the empathy, but I also have the skills to teach the essential and motivate those who are learning. Also, the fact that this organization was built to provide learning opportunities to those who don’t have access to such education was what made me want to join it. I have been through such situations, and I know how challenging it is for those who don’t have access to advanced levels of education. I am a passionate person, in whatever that I am dealing with, and am eager to participate in actions like this.

I am planning to major in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) during my undergraduate years, and these are the subjects that I am the most passionate about. I chose to share my knowledge of philosophy because this is a hard subject to study without a guide. Philosophy starts way back with Socrates, in ancient Greece, and is continuing until now. There are a lot of philosophers and a lot of theories, and for a beginner, it is hard to decide where to start off and which theories we should focus on. Therefore, to give a guide on philosophy and aid the understanding of theories, I chose to share my knowledge of philosophy. I want to share my knowledge of politics by focusing on political theories. When you search ‘politics lecture’ on youtube, you can see that already plenty of lectures exist that deal with political systems, history of politics, political economy, and political science. However, I could barely find lectures about political theories, like the idea of the leviathan by Thomas Hobbes or the concept of the veil of ignorance by John Rawls. Knowing this fact, I thought that I would want to share my knowledge of politics, especially political theories.

WHAT DO YOU SEE YOURSELF DOING IN THE FUTURE? 본인은 미래에 어떤 일을 하고 있을것 같나요?: First of all, after finishing my undergraduate university as a PPE major, I believe that I will be taking my academics further by having graduate years at the university. After earning a master’s degree in politics, I will be entering an international organization, using the skills that I got from PPE such as creativity, and critical thinking, participating in solving and improving social issues. After saving enough money and retiring from work, I will have created an education center in places that don’t have access to education. The center will be providing people with different levels of education, accordingly to their ages and knowledge. Also, this center will have a dormitory to be run as a shelter for those who have lost their parents due to famine, HIV, and AIDS. There is nothing that I can say with certainty on the things that I will be doing in the future, and I believe that my plans for the future will change. However, one thing that I am certain about myself in the future is that I will be engaging in actions to make the society a better place.
